Between a Man and His Heart

About the Author
Bryan Marovich is from Indiana, and studied writing at Goddard College before pursuing graduate work in fiction at Murray State University. In his twenties, drawn by writers like Paul Bowles and Jack Kerouac, he moved to Lisbon, Portugal — chasing the tradition of the American writer abroad.
More than a decade ago, he converted to Islam. Following a difficult year, he sat down — by hand — to write what would become Between a Man and His Heart. His faith shaped every page, and he has come to see himself as a writer working through an Islamic lens — a perspective he finds not so different from those restless Americans who left home to find their voice somewhere else.
He works as a journalist in Vermont, and is currently at work on his second novel. This is his first.
